Simon West is a British film director and producer. His films include “CON AIR” starring Nicholas Cage, “THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER” starring John Travolta and “LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER” starring Angelina Jolie. West is the only live action director ever whose first three 3 films all grossed over $100m at the US box office.

West also served as an executive producer on the Oscar nominated “BLACK HAWK DOWN”.

His television company has produced 7 TV pilots for US TV including acclaimed series such as Fox’s “KEEN EDDIE”, the CBS series “CLOSE TO HOME”, Fox’s “HUMAN TARGET” and the NBC series “THE CAPE”.

West directed the action-packed remake of “THE MECHANIC” starring Jason Statham and Ben Foster and “THE EXPENDABLES 2” starring almost every action star in the movie world. This film grossed over $300m in worldwide box office.

West’s 2019 volcano film titled “SKYFIRE” was one of the largest films ever made in China and opened number one at the box office there.

West then directed his limited series “BONDLESS – SIN LIMITES”, which marked the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the globe by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano. The Amazon project stars Rodrigo Santora (Westworld/Lost) and Alvaro Morte (Money Heist) and was shot in the original languages and in numerous locations including Spain and The Dominican Republic.

West’s 3rd film with Jason Statham “WILD CARD” recently reached no.3 in Netflix’s top 10 films in the US. It also stars Stanley Tucci, Sofia Vegara, Anne Heche and Michael Angarano.

West’s recent film “OLD GUY” starring Christopher Waltz, Lucy Liu and Cooper Hoffman was the opening film for the 2024 Newport Beach Film Festival and was also the world premiere of the movie. The feature film follows a contract killer facing the end of his career who is thrilled when ‘the company’ pulls him back into the field to train a Gen Z newcomer named Wihlborg (Hoffman), a prodigy assassin with an attitude.
